Aventon Ups the Ante with the Current LTD
Fully upgraded, limited-edition eMTB improves upon the Current’s award-winning platform.
Aventon announces the launch of the Current LTD, a limited edition of its full-suspension electric mountain bike. With just 99 units worldwide, each bike is individually numbered and finished exclusively in a bright Magma colorway. The Current LTD pairs the same powerful Aventon Ultro X mid-drive motor and ACU Smart Bike ecosystem found across the entire Current line with a fully upgraded, top-tier component package.

“The Current LTD is what happens when we hold nothing back with our designs,” said Kris Heineman, Senior Brand Director at Aventon. “We took the successful Current platform riders already trust and built the best version of it we could, with a component spec that goes toe-to-toe with bikes costing far more. It’s a limited run, but it sets the ceiling for where we can go.”

The build starts with top-tier RockShox suspension, pairing a Lyrik Ultimate fork with a Super Deluxe Ultimate shock. The drivetrain is SRAM X0 Transmission, and SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes provide unrivaled stopping power. Rolling stock gets the same treatment: Crankbrothers Synthesis Alloy 2 wheels bring front- and rear-specific tuning for grip and compliance on the trail, while Industry Nine 1/1 hubs add quick engagement and stability. A Truvativ Descendant carbon handlebar, Fizik Aidon saddle, and RockShox Reverb AXS dropper complete the “nothing to upgrade” build. Powering it all is the same 120Nm Ultro X motor and ACU smart platform found across the Current line, with GPS anti-theft, four adjustable Ride Tune modes, Airtime tracker, and Wheel Lift Control technology.
The Current LTD is a Class 1 e-bike, convertible to Class 3, and is UL 2849 and UL 2271 certified for battery and motor safety.
The Aventon Current LTD retails for $7,999 and is available starting October 13, 2026, through Aventon’s website and its extensive network of authorized dealers worldwide until sold out.

Our First Impressions
As a refresher, the Aventon Current is a 140mm/150mm full suspension eMTB that launched with two models the ADV and EXP. It features the Ultro X 750w middrive with 110Nm of torque (boost mode featuring 120Nm) and an 800Wh battery that together can get riders over 100 miles of assist.
From the beginning, the Current ADV and EXP proved to have good bones making us eager to want to see it’s true capabilities. The LTD is more than a limited build spec to us, it represents just how much further this bike can be pushed.
With a healthy component upgrade from top to bottom, the standout for us has to start with the suspension. The new RockShox Lyrik Ultimate and Super Deluxe Ultimate really wake the Current up. Making it much more lively and poppy out on the trails. Equally much more capable when things get rowdy and you need to charge through rough terrain. Moving on from the suspension we found the wheel spec to make a major impact on overall ride performance. The Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels with the Industry Nine hubs are a perfect match for the Current. Quick engagement to handle the XO AXS Transmissions fast shifting and the Ultro X power, and quality rims that are much more durable and absorbent.
While the list goes on of other improvements these are the two changes that we can say make the difference.
Starting at $3999 for the ADV, bumping up to $5999 for the EXP and another $2000 jump to $7999 for the LTD are the changes worth it? Well only 99 people have to make that call, but for those EXP owners looking to make these same upgrades would be looking at well over a $2000 bill all said and done.
Overall, the LTD spec is exactly what we would lean towards if we were making changes and it translates to an even more enjoyable and lively full power eMTB.
