Advantages

When unboxing the bike, it was noticeable that the packaging used mostly recyclable materials and cardboard, which is an improvement from plastic and zip ties commonly used.

The Aventure.2’s torque sensor upgrade gives riders more control as the motor provides assistance in proportion to the effort put in by the rider, resulting in a more natural ride feel. With the ability to adjust to four pedal assist modes, ranging from eco to turbo, riders can easily choose the level of assist they need. The thumb throttle provides riders with a quick and easy way to get moving from a stop or take a break from pedaling.

The Aventure.2’s comfortable upright seating position allows riders to sit up straight and maintain good posture comfortably. The 8-speed drivetrain gives a good range in gearing while pedaling. The bike handles well at speed and the 80mm front suspension fork and 26×4 puncture-resistant tires help smooth out bumps on rough terrain.

The included fenders do a good job of keeping water and dirt off your legs. The rear rack included with the Aventure.2 adds to its versatility, making it suitable for everyday use. With the ability to add panniers and other accessories, riders can easily transform the bike into a rugged commuter or grocery getter.

Disadvantages

The weight of the Aventon Aventure.2 can make it difficult to transport, especially if you need to carry it up stairs or lift it onto a bike rack. You can remove the battery to lighten up the bike for transport if needed. An option to transport the bike would be to get a motorcycle hitch rack, which could handle much more weight than the traditional bike rack.

Riding uphill without battery power can be a challenge due to the weight of the bike. Since this does have a large battery, running out of battery should not be an issue someone runs into often.

While the Aventon Aventure.2 is capable of handling some light off-road riding, it is not designed for more technical terrain, so it may not be the best choice for those who plan to take it on very rough trails. It can handle it’s own on most trails, but if it gets very rocky and steep it would be a big challenge for this bike.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Aventon Aventure.2 electric bike is an impressive and versatile option for commuters and recreational riders alike. With its powerful motor and long battery life, it is well-suited for rides in hilly terrain. The addition of the torque sensor and thumb throttle provide a more natural and customizable riding experience, while the rear rack adds convenience and versatility.

For potential buyers, the Aventon Aventure.2 is a great choice if you’re looking for a high-quality electric bike with a range of features and capabilities. However, it is important to note that it is a larger and heavier bike, which may not be suitable for all riders or living situations.

In comparison to the previous model, the Aventon Aventure.2 offers a number of significant improvements, including the torque sensor and rear rack. While the previous model was a solid bike in its own right, the Aventon Aventure.2 takes things to the next level in terms of performance and usability.
