Advantages

The RadWagon 4 offers excellent value, starting at $1,999, providing riders with the flexibility to customize the bike to their needs. You can easily select accessories from the website, which includes prebuilt packages for hauling kids or kids and cargo.

The Radwagon 4’s adjustable seat height with it’s telescoping seat post add to its comfort and versatility. This allows riders of varying heights within a household to be able to use this bike. The adjustable stem allows riders to achieve the ideal reach for a comfortable riding position.

Designed with robust tubing, the Radwagon 4 is built to handle cargo and passengers. The extended rear rack provides ample space for carrying two kids or a child and cargo while offering additional attachment points for securing items. We added the front large basket to carry some cargo up front.

The Radwagon 4 has a nice smooth tune to its motor, so you don’t lurch forward even in the higher pedal assist modes. The throttle feature enables quick acceleration from a standstill, and riders can effortlessly switch to pedaling for further acceleration.

The bike’s sturdy kickstand ensures stability while parked and loading up. With good stability and handling at faster speeds, the Radwagon 4’s 22″ wheel size helps add to its overall performance compared to similar bikes with smaller wheels.

Disadvantages

The bike’s 22″ wheel/tire size is a good fit,  but it’s important to note that finding replacements might not be easy since it’s not a very common size. If you do need replacements, you can always get them through Rad Power.

Since the bike is quite long, the chain also ends up being longer than a normal ebike. This can cause a bit of slack in the chain, resulting in some bouncing when you’re riding on rough roads. It would be nice if there was a chain guide or pulley to help with this slack. We didn’t experience any issues, but it’s something we noticed during our rides.

The Radwagon 4 doesn’t come with any accessories included. So, if you’re looking to add extras, you’ll need to purchase them separately. Fortunately, Rad Power offers a wide range of accessories specifically designed for this bike, and they are reasonably priced. Just keep this in mind when you’re budgeting for the bike.

While the mechanical disc brakes on the Radwagon work well, it would be even better if it came with hydraulic disc brakes. Hydraulic brakes provide that extra stopping power, especially when you’re carrying heavier loads.

The Radwagon is a pretty long bike, measuring just under 79 inches. This means it will take up a fair amount of space in your garage. However, the advantage of the longer design is that it offers plenty of options for carrying cargo and kids. It’s important to consider this length if you’re planning to transport the bike on trips. That being said, the Radwagon is primarily designed to replace cars for short trips in town, so it shouldn’t be a major concern for most riders.

Final Thoughts

In terms of value, the Radwagon 4 is an excellent bike that delivers what it promises at a great price. If you’re looking to transport your kids to school without breaking the bank and also need some cargo space up front, this bike is perfect for you. It offers the functionality you need while staying within a budget. Plus, with the option to add various accessories, it provides exceptional value for a longtail cargo bike under $2500.

Radpower has been manufacturing the Radwagon bike for many years, and it’s not surprising to still see previous versions of the bike on the road. This speaks volumes about the bike’s longevity and durability. It’s now clear to us why Rad Power Bikes are so popular among riders. Their track record and the popularity of their bikes on the streets reflect the reliability and satisfaction riders have experienced over time.
